Slow slow booting & logging into XP due to...
Hi,
I used Hitman Pro yesterday for the first time after I heard good stuff about it. However the next time I rebooted, booting took abnormally long and login into my XP account took also way longer than usual. Also starting up applications don't have the speed they used to have. I don't have a clue of what the problem is. I tried XP's system restore function however after the first time I restored it had no effect. So I wanted to restore from another point further in history but this was not possible due to the fact that I had set the restore size slider to 1% (to save disk space). I guess Hitman cut to deep into XP's guts. Is there a way to check system file integrity or something (I remember that Win98 had some sort of function that did that)? Any input is welcome. PiC P.S. Coincidentally I have used Norton Partition Magic 8 the day before to redistribute some free space from another partition to the C: partition (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=130991). Maybe this is al some combination of factors? |

Even this extreme measure didn't work. I'm thinking of reinstalling XP on this partition. Bummer, cause I had the XP installed a few weeks ago.
