How to record streamed music
A suggestion for software needed to record streamed music. I have Dell with XP pro & Creative Live SoundBlaster card. Streamed music plays through a couple of Harman/Kardon speakers. I can put a mic in front of speakers, but quality is not good. Is there any software of tricks to record internally? I'm new at this stuff, so not too technical, please.

Live cards should have a software utility to "Record What-U Hear," which does exactly what it's name suggests. Explore your Program menu and see if Dell installed it.

All I've got on my computer is a pgm called Sound-Sound Recorder, but it only gives me a 60 second recording time. The quality is very poor. I'll look for the pgm you suggest. Thanks

I used a program called streamripper a while back. I used the winamp plugin version but they also have a command line app. It worked well, but i dont know if this is what you need. http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/index.php
