Nero Vision Express probs..

I recently ran into this prob with Nero Vision Express.
Currently Im using the most recent version and every time I try to burn home made movies onto a DVD it keeps giving me this error message:

OS: Windows XP Professional, SP2
CPU: GenuineIntel, Intel Pentium 4, MMX @ 0 MHz

Application data:
VmVyc2lvbjogVVVKZFExQlRWbHRFVFVOSFF5c29PU2M1QndBNkpUOCt
MVzk3WjJOck1DRWpQeU1rTTBGeGVIQjBaWE01DQpJbWFnZUJhc2U6ID
A2N0YwMDAwDQpFaXA6IDZCRjEwNzYNCkVheDogNEQ2N0VGRUMNCkVje
UHJvZ3Jhb...

And it goes on and on..

I tried asking for support at the nero website and gotten no response..

Anyone can help me would be greatly appreciated.

Alos is there any other Software thats equal or better to Nero Vision express?

The problem is not with Nero, but with your source file, or the decoder needed so Nervision can read it properly.
There are hundreds of better DVD making applications, depending on how intricate you want your menu/chapter structure to be.

How are you getting your home made movies?
What format are they in, when saved on your computer?
How do you get them onto the computer?
What aspect ratio, framesize, and framerate are they?
How long (running time) are they?
How many minutes are you trying to get onto one disk?
Are these all short videos and you are trying to make a compilation, or one long video?
Do you want menus and chapters?

1. I got my movies from fileplanet.
2. they are all Quicktime format.
3. I downloaded them from fileplanet.
4. they are about 534x 400, FPS 29.97, Mpeg Layer 4 Audio, Stereo 44100hz.
5. one is 10 mins the other is 6 mins and one is 47 mins.
6. All of them if possible.
7. Short videos.
8. yes I do want a menu and chapters..

Is this enough or do I need to be more specific..
thanks for your fast reply.

Because Nero has trouble with quicktime (thanks to licensing issues), here's the way I would do it.
Get a good encoder, capable of reading QT files. Tmpgenc is as good as any, although somewhat slow.
Get the QTreader plugin for it at: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=TMPGEnc_Mov_Plugin
Add the total running time of the videos together, and plug it into the bitrate calculator here: http://www.videohelp.com/calc
Open each file in tmpgenc, and encode to DVD spec. Use the wizard, but adjust bitrate either UP or down, to the number you got from the bitrate calc.
Make sure you select 224kbps 48khz mpeg1, layer 2 audio, on the Audio tab.
Because the total running time is only 63 minutes, you should get a superb dvd.
If you have any questions about the advanced settings in tmpgenc, just post them here.
Once all videos are encoded to mpeg-2, DVD spec, download DVDLab Pro trial from www.mediachance.com
Import your files, author and burn.
If you have any questions about authoring in DVDLab, I have tutorials on it here: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220092

If you choose to author the encoded mpeg-2 files in Nerovision, that's ok (but not great).

I have this same problem with NVE 3.107 and it's with a file that NVE captured from my vid camera. NVE can't read it's own mpg file.

I capture the data and burn a DVD and save the project but if I try to open the project later or load the mpg file, I get the error message and NVe freezes up, then, too.

From looking around on various forums, this seems to be a not uncommon problem but I can't find a fix for it.

Any ideas here?

I am going to try and reinstall Nero and see if this prob will go away.
I am really hoping for better results...

Let us know if it does.

I've been using Nero since version 5-something and doing updates/upgrades as they become available. I don't know if I could even find my original cds. If I could, they'd be versin 5-something. All the files since then are update/upgrade files.

Can I clean out the current installation and then reinstall from the most recent update files or will it want to find an existing install?

Found the answer. So long as I have the serial number for version 6, I can do a fresh clean install with the "update" files.

Okay.
I unistalled all the Nero stuff with the cleaner tool fromt he Nero website.

I ran MS config, hide all MS services then disable all the remaining services, then disable all startup programs
Then I reinstalled the programs and the NVE patch from the nero website.

NVE then worked correctly.

I re-enabled everything in MSconfig and rebooted and NVE still worked!
