Word problem - templates greyed out
I had several templates made out for Word documents. I went to use one of them the other day and the template came up dark. No text or graphics, just a dark screen. When I do a search for the template and click on the file, it opens correctly, but when I click "New Document" and try to open it from there it does not open right.

Which version of Word?
Are the files .doc or .dot files?

When I do a search for the template and click on the file, it opens correctly -> Do this again and resave again. (as .dot)

Saving the doc as a new dot file did not work. It will open OK if you click on New Document on the right hand task bar but not from the New Document link in the start menu.

I deleted the normal.dot file and the templates opened correctly but, normal.dot did not regenerate. It is no longer in my templates even after rebooting and starting Word.

If you can open Word and get a useable clean looking blank doc normal.dot is working...
