How do I password protect my files?
I've got XP and I'd like to keep files which I have on a USB memory stick private and not let anyone see the excel and word docs and jpegs I have on it.
Is there any way I can password protect the files so that they can only be opened by inputting a password? TIA.

If you go to the sony microvault site, they have a program called password lock. It doesn't password protect the files, but it does create a hidden password protected "Security Drive", where you can store the files.
Here's a link. Hope it helps. |

You can use pgp but then you need pgp and your private key with you to decrypt it (I think you could put it on your memory stick but it would take alot of space). I recently found a program called file2file. I havent had a chance to try it much but I think it will do what you want, you just need to check "create exe-file" when encrypting.
