OS swopping W2K Pro/ XP Pro

Question: Computer A has W2K Pro; computer B has Win 98SE - I would like to swop the OS from Computer A (w2K Pro) and install it on computer B, leaving me to install XP Pro on Computer A. Is there any license problems with MS on doing this? (mainly on removing w2K Pro OS to the other)Thanks!

There should be no problem from m$'s standpoint, as long as you maintain a single user license for each OS installation - as long as you have one XP Pro license and one 2k License, and you only use those on one machine each, you have no problems. You can swap and mix all you want as long as there is only one use of an installation at all given point in time. Basically, one license for each OS on each computer. HTH

Thanks - so many user agreement rules/laws etc that I can't catch up with who does what, just wanted to make sure the update downloads would work with MS .
