Thanks for the quick response. I went to the web site posted and all it had were directions for a recovery cd. Both computers are functioning. The one that has the outlook files I want is being given to someone else. Any more suggestions?

I have a HP Pavillian a562n and on my pc you goto;
Select
Start
All Programs
PC Help and Tools
HP PC Recovery CD-DVD Creator

or look in; "C:\WINDOWS\CREATOR\CD Creator.exe"

Hope that helps.

Thanks, I produced the cds from within windows.
Now I presume I can use them by booting from the first cd?
What I would like to be able to do is install everything except the preloaded software, just XP and drivers. Is this going to be possible?

I doubt it, I have yet to see a recovery set allow you the option of a custom install, those HP's come bundled with loads of junk, something on them (can't remember what) comes up as spyware during the spybot scan.

edit....I just remembered what those HP's come bundled with, "Wild Tangent" I am not sure what this garbage does altogether, I know it is a system resource hog and that it shows up on several different spyware scanners as trouble, it loads a few games onto the machine and I think it has a "phone home" utility built in, that is probably reporting back everything you do to HP or Wild Tangent.
