Exclamation Outlook 2003 mystery!!!!! can anyone help

my friend told me today that she is having problems with her email. she says that when outlook sends and receives, it shows that it has messages downloading to her pc, and they start showing up in her inbox but after it completes the send/receive function, all of the messages disappear on her pc. she has "leave a copy of message on the server checked" for her email acct configuration. its a comcast email account, so i had her check to see if the messages were still on comcast email server by logging into her comcast account via the web. all of the messages are gone now. i had her delete the email account from outlook and recreate it and is still does this. she said it was doing this on her work pc as well, she has the same outlook email settings on that pc as well. its not just her comcast account that is having trouble, she has another email acct in outlook that is doing the same thing. everything works fine if she just uses the web to send and receive email, so it sounds like something with outlook.

i have scanned her pc in safe mode with adaware, spybot, AVG and housecall for spyware and viruses, and no spyware or viruses were detected.

has anyone seen something like this before and do u know how to fix it? i was gonna just reinstall outlook but it seems odd that it is happening on 2 different pc's, so i dont want to do that just yet if there is something else that i can do to fix it.

Go to Actions>Junk Email>Junk Email Options and see what the settings are there on that first page, if the 2 bottom options, Safe Lists only, and permanently delete, are checked and no one is on the safe list then all mail will be treated as junk mail and will simply be deleted and dissapear into never to be seen or recovered land...

Probably applied a filter accidentally. Check to make sure that it isn't set to display only read messages or something like that. It seems that that is nearly always the problem on something like that.

I have also had it where someone had added someone by mistake to a blocked sender list.

thanks guys for the tips, i took a look at her outlook and she did have safe list only checked and permanently delete junk mail. so i changed her level of protection to low and removed the permanently delete junk mail check. i told her to let me know how it goes, so far it seems to be working again.

im back guys, my friend stated when she opened outlook it said she had 7 messages downloading. only 1 of the 7 was actually downloaded. i double checked her settings in outlook and the junk mail filter level is set to low, and the permanently delete messages box is unchecked. do you guys have any other ideas as to why this keeps happening, and how i can fix this for her? or is it time to reinstall outlook 2003 at this point?
