A different Outlook Express "out of memory" error 0x800C013C

Hi All,

I compact my OE 6.00.280.1123 folders regularly, but today I recieved the error:

Quote:
There is not enough disk space. (file foldername.dbx, Error 0x800C013C)
This error occured in about 6 of my approx 30 folders.

I searched the Web and MS's KB and the only fix I found was to "delete the Inbox.dbx and restart." I did so and still had the same problem with the same folders. So I then deleted the folders with the problem and remade them (I moved the emails to a temp folder, then back to the remade folder). The error still occurs.

I then made a new folder and copied all the emails from an effected folder to the new folder. I then compacted the new folder with sucess. However, after closing OE and restarting, the new folder now had the same problem.

The only recent changes to my system was an install of a new vid card this past Friday. I don't know if this may be related, but the ATI AIW setup installed DAO (required for certain AIW functions) and .NET 1.1 (which I did Not want).

Running XP Pro SP1

Any ideas or help to fix this??

TIA

Move the affected folders to a temp location, then use the import wizard to bring them back in, not just a simple copy/paste. This will often clean them up.

Well, good and bad news. First the bad. I put one of the folders into a separate directory and used the Wizzard. I received the following message:
Quote:
No messages can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open.
Please select another folder or try closing applications that may have files open.
So I rebooted and tried again and had the same response. I tried both options (Main Ident, and from a Store Directory) and still the same. The same happens with a "good" directory. I must be missing something...

The good news, though, is that I tried compacting all the Folders and had success for the first time in a week !?!?

Any ideas on the above is more than welcome.
