Weird...no idea about this one
um this is the strangest thing ever, dont really kno where to put it even.
The icon on my desktop SAYS doom 3, but has a pic for outlook express. Figuring something got mislabeled, i changed the icon name to "Outlook Express"....Then the icon changed itself to the doom 3 icon. When clicked while appearing as the OE icon with doom 3 as title, it opens doom 3.

It is a desktop link to Doom3 that has chosen the OE icon, right click and then click properties, then click "change icon" and change it to whatever takes your fancy.
edit...there was a virus/trojan around a few years ago that used to rearrange your icons, have you scanned for viruses?
