DVD Decoder for Win Media Player

Ok, well I tried to play a couple of DVD's on my computer through Win Media Player but everytime I get an error that states that I need to lower number of colors or screen resolution. So I did......still doesnt work and same error. I checked out the other possible solutions and one was to download a DVD decoder. Do I need to? What is a good freeware program that will do this?

You should try the vlc media player. Its free-ware and plays almost every video format imaginable. It also has a neat option to set the video as your walpaper. Get it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

If you want to use windows media player you will need to download codecs. Just download and install the k-lite codec pack. If you google it, it will come up.

When I watch DVD on my PC, I never use WinMediaPlayer, even I watch MPG. Try to use some other dvd player:
