A Simple Query
Can anyone answer this little head scratcher?
I use Microsoft Outlook Express 2003 at work for email. When messages come into my inbox (and outlook isn't the current window), I get the standard beep notification, a little letter symbol in the bottom right hand side where the clock is, and a small window appears briefly to tell you who's sent the email and the subject of it. However, when emails come into sub-folders in the inbox that I've created, such as emails from friends and family that are set-up to go automatically to a folder called personal, I don't get any notification at all. No beep, no symbol and no little window. Can I set Outlook to give the usual notifications for them too, or do I have to periodically stop what I'm doing and switch back to outlook to check whether I have mail? Not exactly an arduous task I know, but it'd be handy all the same. Thanks guys / girls. LL |

I think that you need to edit your rules. Go into Tools/Rules and Alerts, highlight the rule, go to change and select the drop down list. One of the options is to display in the new item alert window. Make sure that is set and you are good to go. You do have to do it for all rules though.
