DVD Shrink and Decrypter not working properly

I am running DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to burn back-ups of my DVD collection. After decrypting the DVD I open the files with Shrink. Then the files are shrunk down and are burned with Shrink using Nero. Everytime I burn a disk it comes back with a message saying the disk was not burned successfully. Sometimes the disk works in a DVD player and sometimes not. Another screen comes on after the no success screen and says that all outputs were successfully completed and saved. Is this happening to anyone else. How can I get a successful burn. Are there any other free programs that are reliable? Thanks.

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink are reliable.

What burner do you have, which firmware is installed, and what kind of DVD blanks do you use (what speed are they rated at) ?

Nothing at all wrong with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I use DVD Decrpyter all the time in both ripping to the hard drive and later burning my DVD backups. What I use is DVD Rebuilder rather than DVD Shrink (although it does about the same thing, shrinking the DVD9 down to a DVD5). There's a very nice guide over at Doom9. It requires downloading and installing some other applications as well, but I think it's worth it, and once you get it set up, it's very easy to just keep backing up your discs.

Have you tried lowering your writing speed?
I mean, if you are writing disk on , say, 16X then try lower it to 8X
8X to 4X.....and so on, until you get a good burn, also close all programs
while burning your disk.
