Windows Media Player won't play DVDs

I cannot get any video in Windows Media Player when playing a DVD in my XP system. I have downloaded the codec package from MS's site. I can sometimes get the audio, but never the video.

InterVideo WinDVD4 plays the DVDs without a problem.

What do I need to do to get Media Player to play the DVDs?
