Bitcomet problem

It was a system running win98 and somehow I can't get the bitcomet to downlaod the torrent files.The computer was linked with several other computer as a local area network.My question is,is there any configuration needed so that the files can be downloaded?It sit at 0% and with no peer and seed client at all.Help!

For bittorrent to work, you need to forward the necessary ports on the router that controls your Local Area Network. I believe this often defaults to TCP Port 4662. You'll also need to forward this port directly to your internal IP address on the network.

PS: These instructions are based on my experiences with a home network, what you describe sounds like an office network for which the steps might be very different.

TQ,It's my school network but I'll try that out...forwarding to TCP port.I'll let you know later.

Just realised, I was wrong when I said port 4662, that's emules default. Most bittorrent trackers ive used default to 6881.

Your school may be blocking the port. If that's the case, we can't help you because it falls under security workarounds in the forum rules.
