Firefox and Quicktime

Hey,

I installed the new version of Quicktime 7 from Apple's website so I could view some movies. I then realized that nothing else on the internet supported it for some reason, so I uninstalled it and installed 6.5 from the website. Now whenever I open firefox it says I lack quicktime plug - extensions which can be found in quicktime version 5. It then redirects me to apple.com/quicktime if I click ok. What should I do? I dont want to have to reinstalled firefox since it will lose everything.

I'm bumping this because I need help and nothing I'm trying is doing anything. I broke down and reinstalled Firefox, though I did not clear any cookies or anything beforehand. Perhaps that's why it had my bookmark list already back in place for me.

I'm reinstalling quicktime now to see if that does anything. Thanks.

you can also try quicktime alternative from here . it lets you play quicktime files without the need for the official player

edit: I forgot to mention it includes a quicktime directshow filter so you can open quicktime files in the player of your choice

Thanks rios. I fixed this and forgot to post back. I delete firefox's cache then redownloaded and reinstalled both programs and it fixed my problem. I thought that would fix it but I just didn't want to do delete everything. Thanks.
