I just tried out CCleaner this morning and it removed 700mb of unused/temp files.

Also if you have large files that you do not access often you could compress them with winzip winrar, winace or any compression utility.

On XP, I just use Disk Cleanup. It's built in and works fine. Just DON'T compress files. I also use the More Options tab and Remove Old Restore Points. They can take up a bunch of space. Only do this on a solid running system with no problems. It will remove all but the latest Restore Point. Then run Disk Defragmenter.

There are some programs that will look for dupe dll files and such. I wouldn't bother with em. DLL are generally small and the new program will take up space...

Hard drives are at an all time low price wise these days. If your short on space.....
