How do I do this?

I am trying to build a cd that when you put it in the cd-rom it starts a presentation. Kinda like software does when you install it. I have a text type program that I want to have chapters, menu, headings etc. Kinda like a web site. I guess what I am asking ---> Is there software that is available that allow one to build a program like that??? Much pre-thanks!!!! Scotty

All you need is notepad! you create a file called AUTORUN save it with the file extension .INF and inside this text file type the text below (where it has setup.exe is the name of the file you want to launch) put a few of your own launching CD's and have a look at the autorun.inf files... you will soon see how it can be done hope that has helped!

[autorun]
OPEN=SETUP.EXE /AUTORUN

note that this only works with .exe files.

Yes, I have done that before... but we are going back many years

I have made you some files and put them on my webspace... download the zip... unpack the zip, and put the FILES ONLY on the root directory of the CD you intend to burn but replace the default.htm page that I have included with your own.

IF you are not sure about what I mean, just ask... anyway, you can download that file by clicking the link below

Download zip here - extract and use the files only, not the folder (replace default.htm with your own)

I hope that helps

Edit: Force Flow is right (thanks mate)... my download should do it for you

Edit2: The only small draw back is that the person who puts in the CD may not have the vbruntime files installed in order to run the booter.exe file... most do these days though... but if you wanted, you could include that file also on the CD if you wanted with a readme.txt file explaining what to do if it does not launch on a users PC... you can download the vbruntime files from Microsoft here:
