Transfer Programs and Files
When I purchase a new computer I want to transfer all of the files and programs from the old computer. What software is recommended for this task and will it transfer the programs as well. I no longer have the CD's for a couple of programs.

When you install a program, it makes Many entries to the registry and copies many files to the windows folders. So you basically can't copy programs from machine to another.
One way (not recommended) is to re-use the old hard drive in the new machine. If it's Win XP, you can do a repair install...
