Just had to share this GREAT gmail tool...
First, apologies if this is widely known about. I did a quick search on the forums and found nothing, so here goes.
This superb tool: http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm allows you to use your Gmail account as a 2GB+ network drive, basically by sending files as attachments and filing them in an explorer type interface automatically. I've found it easy to use, and extremely useful as an online file store. The only potential disadvantage is the massive number of emails it generates in your account...although helpfully these are all prefixed with GMAILFS, so you can have them archived automatically. Very nice indeed... Freakitchen EDIT: After a bit of continued usage, I thought I should bring some flaws to light too. As per Gmail's limit, files of more than 10mb aren't allowed. The only solution is to split them into RAR archives. It's a rather slow upload process.... Still worth a look though!

Yep, I installed it a few months back, but the 10MB attachment limit didn't really make it all that useful for my purposes.

Must admit I am finding this limitation more and more annoying.
Incidentally, I had the idea of getting a new Gmail account specifically for this use...only to find that the useful 'isnoop' gmail-invite-distributor has gone offline. Apparently Google decided that this was 'wrong'. There are other similar websites kicking around though. Freakitchen |
