I don't know what's up.
I've noticed over the last couple days that my computer's speed has drastically reduced. I haven't done anything out of the norm to cause it, just some online gaming and net surfing. I did a disk defrag but it's still slow. This encompasses internet activity, playing videos through windows media player, and even clicking on folders. Any suggestions???

Have you done any malware scans?

Don't know what that is so I guess no. I don't have any antivirus software if that's what you mean.

That would be why your computer is running slow. Download and install AVG7 free from here, update it's virus detection definitions and do a full system scan. Also, you'll need to do spyware scans and adware scans. The software packs I prefer for them are Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware SE.

You might also want to do a disk clean up, and look into a firewall of somesort.

Good to hear, you will probably want to do virus scans weekly to keep ontop of trojans and malware.

Look into a SPyware prog too as well as Firewall in order to help prevent this from happening again in other ways. If you have XP you automatically have a firewall just make sure it is on.

Yeah I've got WinXP Pro SP2 which has pop-up blocker and firewall. It's been working wonderfully up until now.
