Options for removing/replacing software on a laptop being resold
Here is the situation: I have an old Extensa laptop (pentium 100 with 24 megs of ram) that I want to resell, but don't want to leave Window 98 on as I might want to use that license in the future. The laptop doesn't boot from the cd-rom drive so if I put any software on it, it will have to be thru the floppy drive. I did consider installing a small Linux package to give the new owners something to play with while they decide what o/s they wanted on the unit. But the only way I figured I could do that was to do a partial install of Windows that included drivers for the cd-rom and then Linux onto the hard drive. I have an external cd drive that connects to the parallel port, but no drivers for that unit. I am open to any and all suggestions.... also I have disk software for Windows 3.1 that I could use on the laptop and include in the sale... don't have any real plans for using that edition. Feel free to fire away.
