Yeah and this is the exact reason why the zotob worm was so prolific, because people are so eager in believing that using hosts files is going to solve it all. People have to realize that adding hosts files, especially from sources downloaded from the net is not a good practice.

I've created a hosts file from scratch, which can be found in this article: http://www.pcmech.com/show/internal/766/12/
But, as Statica said, using the hosts file is not an end-all solution. It is mearly part of the overall prevention solution.
