Changing Program Ports

I am at college. My Lineage 2 game cannot connect because it's port is blocked by the college firewall. I contacted the network admin. He says they cannot unblock that port but if I can get the program to run through an alternative port that is fine. I know absolutely nothing about these ports and stuff. I believe the game I am playing runs on port 7777. Just about every port in the firewall is blocked except http, AIM, and MSN. Can anyone tell me how to like route the program to run through a different port so I can access it through the firewall? Also, someone told me to use HTTP Tunnel. I do not know what that is, nor do I know how to use it. Someone please help me.

Thanks
-Matt

Chances are, you will run into various problems running a game like that behind a firewall. If you want to change the port, you need to look in that specific program's documentation and see if it says anything about it. The way ports are handled vary from application to application, so that is probably the best way to go. Running it on an alternative port might also lead to problems - its very hard to tell.
