New Problem after using Easy Cleaner

Hello some more everyone,

Well now my problem is more serious

I was able to un-install a program using Easy Cleaner, and noticed some of the other niffty utilities it had.

Did the duplicate files search and 18 minutes later found that I had 8698 files in 3654 groups.

Since they were "duplicates" I started the task of deleteing them. No way to do a mass delete and I got tired of idividual deletes after a few minutes so I stopped that process.

Now - When I boot up, I get to the desktop and then I get 16 consecutive XML error messages. Looks like they are all strings, fonts, and easy tab lines, a total of 97 lines.

I close all these error messages one by one and then it seems as though my PC runs fine.

I tried restoreing to two different restore dates and neither worked. Would not allow the restore.

How can I prevent the errors from popping up?

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to explain the problem as completely as I could.

Thanks

As you've found out the hard way, "duplicate files" doesn't mean un-needed extra files.

Does easy cleaner make any sort of backup or list of the files it zapped and where they were originaly located so that you can replace them?

Yes, I can print a list from the easy share program, but don't know how to replace them to the area needed.

Any info on how I should do this?

Thanks

Are these what you were eluding to, or something different?

I don't want to make a bigger mess without some good advice on what to do.

Thanks

No, what I was referring to was the instructions for running the built in System File Checker (sfc). No need to register for anything. Just follow the instructions for sfc/scannow.
