Have you gone to Ms's site and DLed the latest version? (perhaps there was an update)
I am not really sure what to do b/c I still have 112 days left on my version.

You need to go to MS's site and download the new version. You can install overtop of what you already have. Your preferences/options/settings will be saved.
The update function is only for downloading definition files, not major updates to the program itself.
