Computer keeps on freezing on me...

well the topic kinda tells what my problem is. it freezes at random times whether im doing stuff or not and i dont get any error messages at all. i thought about reinstalling everything, but im not so sure because of all the measures windows has taken to prevent people to use the same cd for multiple computers.

Do you run spyware and virus scans often? have you downloaded or installed any questionalble material lately? Have you added new hardware recently?
How old is your computer, it could be a PSU or mobo problem.

What kind of computer is this? Home built or name brand?

What are the system specs?

What operating system are you using?

What kind of background programs are you running?

Did this always happen or did it just start?

Are you saying this computer doesn't have it's own copy of Windows?

check your temps, your pc may be overheating. Look for dust accumulations on the heatsink, try cleaning it with compressed air.

Yes, it works. (not tryin to be a mod or anything, but lets try to keep this thread on topic)

random computer freezes can be cuased by a lot of things. viruses, spyware, overheating, too many apps running at once, file problems in the OS system files, failing PSU or mobo...
