Set e-mailed picture as desktop
A friend of mine received an e-mail from her son that included a picture of her grandson. She is asking me how to set up the picture as her desktop. I told her to just bring up the picture on her computer, right click on the picture somewhere and she should get a drop down menu. One of the choices should be "Set as desktop" , then to left click on it etc. She tells me that when she right clicks on the picture, the only choice are, Zoomin, zoom out, actual size, best fit, print, rotate left, right. There was no choice to Set as desktop.
She is running Windows ME. What should I tell her ? Thanks.

Can she copy the photo, paste it in paint or something, save it and then do as you told her to set it as desktop. Or save the photo in a folder, and under display properties > desktop, select the image from its folder.

No success ! Had her save the picture to the desktop, and even in a folder in My documents. Then when she opens the picture whether it be by Paint, Image preview, etc. she doesn't get the option to set as desktop. Can there be something missing from her computer that was not loaded off the Win ME disc ?

I doubt anything is missing, did she try right clicking on the desktop, then selecting properties then the desktop tab, then browse and finding the picture and applying it?

Right, what he said. Also, have her try Paint again. Open the photo in MS Paint, and under 'file' there should be an option to set as wallpaper. She might have to save it as a bitmap first though.
