System REcovery
The specs to my friends rig are:
Intel Celeron 2.8 GHz 512MB ram he did today system recovery not restore..im not sure why but he did..well here's the thing after comp boots and starts to boot xp home edition it freezes..umm last week he added an AGP type card to connect his comp to his big @ss tv if that makes any difference..my questions are this..where do i make those floppy boot up disks and what do they do and i have a wind xp pro with sp2 disk if i do repair from the disc will that work with his home edition..will it fix the problem?? FYI my friend doesnt wanna lose his info so a partition is outta the picture please help

what floppy boot disks are you refering to? If his system is home edition you have to use home edition, you cant use another.
Does he not have his windows xp home cd?

My friend's Windows ME machine froze on start up everytime after the icons loaded. Even safe mode didn't work. I took out the hard drive, made it a slave drive and put it in my computer. I went into the hard drive, copied all the files that she wanted onto my machine and burnt a DVD-R. Put back the hard drive in her computer, repartitioned and installed ME clean. An alternative if Repair doesn't work for you.
