Ghost [Another Topic]

Just found this site today, through Google! I've got a hypothetical Ghost situation I need answered.

I have a hard drive...a rather large one, too. Upwards to 300 GB. (I think it's 250 GB, to be exact...)

Anyway, I made six partitions, basically to keep things super organized. Two of these partitions are "Games" (35 GB) and "Movies" (117! GB).

I've been purchasing way more games than I ever could have anticipated, and I can't believe how quickly mods eat away at space when you download dozens of them on a daily basis. Anyway, the "Games" partition is nearly full...I could start installing games elsewhere, but then I wouldn't be so organized! The "Movies" partition, on the other hand, has almost nothing on it. It doesn't look like I'll be putting anything on there anytime soon, either. (I thought ripping a DVD was a heck of a lot faster than the 40 minutes it takes me).

Here's what I'm wondering: I want to take Partition magic, and wipe that 117 GB partition named "Movies." Out of that, I want to make a new partition named "Gaming," at maybe...80-100 GB. Then, I want to Ghost the contents of the "Games" partition to that of the newly-created "Gaming" partition...now a problem is going to exist: the original "Games" partition is recognized as drive G:. Can I then wipe the (old) "Games" partition, and then re-assign the new "Gaming" partition to G: and have everything work properly!?

I realize that was probably really confusing, so I'll try and summarize:
I have G: Games and P: Movies.
I want to wipe the Movies partition, make a new-and-improved (size-wise) Gaming partition...then copy my G: Games contents' to the new partition I made, delete the old one...re-assign the new partition as G: [eg: G: Gaming] and have it work properly! Meaning, not having to re-install everything...

If you were somehow able to overcome the confusingness of this, is it possible? And should it work without any problems?

Thanks!

Yeah, but...I thought if you re-sized a partition, it has to delete everything on it? The whole point of the project is to not have to re-install the games on G:...

Or am I mistaken?

best thing would to back-up all the data first in-case of an accident ... if i had to do it i would just wipe away both partions and then make the new one and transfer the data from backed-up disks or other partions
