Question Cassette to CD

Greetings,
Any recomendations for
Cassette Deck to Cd via my PC?
I have all HPs and have nothing more than the windows media player.
Can I go direct from deck to computer and is there software specifically designed for this that you would recomend?

Thanks,
Jack

Yep, use the headphone, or line out jack of your tape deck and hook it to the line-in (blue) connector of your sound card. then use a program such as a free one called audacity to record the sound coming in (you can download audacity @ http://audacity.sourceforge.net ). the cable that you will need to connect your tape deck to your PC will depend on the output connector of your tape deck.

HTH,
CN

If you do the above, make sure you use a stereo 1/4" plug, or your recording will go to one channel only. I think you can also buy cable that goes from your left/right (red/white) RCA plugs down to a single 1/4" stereo plug.

Yeah, thats pretty much what you need. Again it ultimately depends on what you have on your cassette deck. if its the kind that works with a sound system, you'll more than likely have the RCA connectors on the back. I'd use those and get the stereo RCA to 1/8" stereo cable.
