Video Splitting

Is there any good freeware for spliiting videos? I'm trying to burn a video onto a 700MB CD, but the file is too big after the format is converted. I want to split in half, but I don't know a good program to do that.

If you are on xp, I do beleive windows movie maker can do this, not the greatest editing program, but will get the job done.

Moved to proper forum - this is not a software review. Please read sticky threads in forums before posting. Thank you.

What kind of video ?
If AVI, get Virtualdub.
If MPEG, get Cuttermaran.

Both are free.
