File Transfer Software
Got a new computer and have been doing a lot of reading on how to selectively transfer files(favorites, address book, photos etc) from the old to the new. And I'm confused. Seems that commercial software might be the right choice for a dummy like me. Are there any that are easy to use, relatively fool proof and actually work?

set your new Hardrive as master, the second into slave, boot from the master (setup in bios) and copy the files you want to keep.

If you want an exactly mirror you can use Norton Ghost, I hear it is pretty good. You could also connect the two computers with a crossover cable and set them up with the network wizard and enable file sharing and copy all the files you want.

Try the XP Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.
