I go to defrag my HD, but in order to do that it says I need to run scan disk first, so I restart my computer and it runs, it fixes 2 errors (orphan files). I get into Windows and start to defrag again, but it says I need to run scan disk again, I restart and it runs again, but does not find anything incorrect. I get back into windows and go to defrag a 3rd time, again, it says I need to run scan disk. It went on like this for 5 more restarts.
What do I do? I need to run defrag to speed it up, but it won't let me even though there are no errors on the HD. |

G'day
windows defrag sucks big time. Try O&O defrag. You might have bad clusters in your HDD. Prepare to invest in a new one before too late. John |

1. Remove your overclocking.
2. Open a command prompt and type chkdsk c: /r (sub for c if it's not the C drive). Reboot will be required if it's the OS drive and it will probably take an hour to do. |
