Burning .avi file to DVD disc
I have some movies in .avi format on my hard drive. I was wondering whether there are any programs that would allow me to burn these files onto a disc in a format that would play in a standard DVD player. I have Nero 6. Does this contain the nessecary software? What file format does a movie have to be in to burn to a playable DVD?

I downloaded it and it looks like it will do exactly what i want it to do. However, whenever I try to convert one using the .avi to DVD command, it comes up with the error "Could not write in mpeg/dvd format. Check harddrive and windowns to see if copying is capable". Or something like that. This confuses me as I use this machine to do straight disc to disc burns all the time and that the file isnt copy or write protected. any suggestions?

Are you sure that those avi's don't have some kind of digital rights management?

What do you mean by that glc? I can view them on my computer fine with divx. How could I check if the files have the "rights management"?
