How to delete Outlook express and other windows programs?

There are a couple of things that come with XP that I don't need, like Outlook and msn explorer and the like. I know that in Add/Remove programs there is a tab saying add/remove windows components, but when I click on the block next to what I want removed it just repairs it. There isn't an option whether you want to remove or repair... it just always repairs. How do I get rid of the unnessessary windows components?

Uncheck the boxes next to the components you want to remove. Then hit next and it will remove them.

I wouldn't even consider removing OE. Plus, it's so small you wouldn't be able to tell if it is there or not.

It won't really remove them as much as hide them. I've "removed" Outlook Express from my computer in that way, but when I type "msimn" in the Run box up pops OE all the same.

If you are talking about removing MSN Messenger, copy and past this in the run box: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

If it's Windows Messaging service you want gone, just disable the service. You really can't delete it, as it is part of the OS.
