Pavilion Recovery CDs
Does anyone have a link or a suggestion for helping me to identify what Pavilion model that my system recovery cds belong to? For example the HP# 5011-7489 turns up nothing when i search with google. Any ideas?
Thanks, Alan |

Have you tried browsing the CD's for files that may have a clue?

yes glc,
thanks i have tried to do that. i usually do that with motherboard driver cds but i cannot find anything on these hp jewels. it is not so important but yesterday a customer gave me a restore set (2 cds) for her pavilion and it just clearly was NOT intended for the computer she brought in. i just needed the 810 video and a conexant modem driver and i have many cds which i have produced with collections of the common drivers for pavilions and presarios and etcetera. have done so many of these pavilions i could almost do it blindfolded but, still, i have bunches of these HP restore cds laying around in my closets and was just curious. once in a while you find one of those HPs that they just do not support on their website (like they do not admit they ever made the model) so i always try to harvest drivers for those occasions. thanks for responding. alan |

The numbers on the discs wont help unless you have a HP cross reference list. However if you place the cd in your reader, you should get a build number such as NAheBLU51, NAheBLU52,etc. these are sequential for the cds in a set. The first cd has the number you want to do a search with. Hope this helps
Oldgeek BTW if you have any hp recovery sets you might be interested in parting with, I'm sure we can work out something |
