IP adress list

Does anybody know of a free program that I can use to generate a list of IP addresses and corresponding host names being used (or responding to a ping) on a lan?

No an IP scan lists the addresses of OTHER computers within a range of IPs. The netstat command lists the protocols TCP/IP statistics information on the computer you run the command. netstat is not a windows only command, it's been there in Linux as well .. here's a good read: http://www.securitydocs.com/library/3318

Okay thanks for clearing that up - I though that netstat also showed all active connections with other computers.
