Benchmarking software?

hey guys,

i would like to find out my PC's benchmarks but dont know which software to download or, most importantly, how to use it.

I've seen many people here talk about thier 3dmark05 scores, is this the proper/best software to use? how do i use it?

Thanks all-

There are many thread on benchmarking for your reading pleasure; they're easy to search.

It also helps to mention what you want to benchmark. 3DMark is mainly for graphics. Sandra is a good all- around benchmark utility. Fresh Diagnose is another. There are hard drive specific benchmarks, and so on...
