iTunes Issue- Help appreciated

just recently i purchased a 5G ipod. ive been a musicmatch user for long as i can remember, and now i have made the shift to iTunes. Except the problem is this...
After i had imported my library into iTunes from MusicMatch, after much re-organization of my music and addin new tunes to my new library onto iTunes, i wanted to clear my MusicMatch library and than import the new and improved list from iTunes onto it (to keep things in check). problem is, now that i've cleared my library, now (from what i figure) all files that were origanlly associated with MusicMatch that i imported onto iTunes are gone. Stupid mistake had i known this would have happened but now all that music is gone. ive tried system restore to try and return the system back so i could just pick up where i left off before hand but no go, nuthing has worked. im out of ideas and i could use some suggestions if u got any, id appreciate

im on Windows XP Pro using the latest software- everthin up to date
