.srt and .ssa files

Hey all

Ive never really ventured into dvd, so i was wondering if any of you could help me out.
Ive been given a movie, it's in .avi.
But with it are two files, a .srt and a .ssa, which contain subtitles.
do you know how I can insert the subtitle files into the avi as I burn it to dvd?
or if i even need to?

thanks.

depends:
if you have a DIVX compatible standalone DVDplayer, you just burn the ".avi" and the ".srt or .saa" as 'DATA DVD' and the player will pickup the subtitles as it plays the movie.

if you wanted permanent subtitles in your movie then you can use something like "VirtualDub"+"VOBsub" to insert the subs into your movie before creating a dvdplayer compatible dvd-video.
