Launching ISO & BIN files
I have burned and ISO file and a BIN file to separate CDs (different programs) using Roxio CD Creator. However, when I insert the CDs into my CD drive, an Explorer screen comes up and I cannot launch the programs. I thought that the CD was a readable one which would automatically launch the ISO or BIN file. What am I missing here???

There are actually two different programs (i.e. two separate questions). One program is a bin file and the second is in the iso format. I have not done this before and understand they are image files. What I am not able to do is load the program after burning 2 CDs (1 for each program).
I am sure this is a pedestrian question but would appreciate any help ... Thanks in advance ... |

HI to load a bin fill you will need the cue file that was made with it in the same folder.
Instead of burning these files use deamon tools to open them from your comp without having to burn them it supports all image files iso bin/cue and many more.

When looking at the ISO cd do you still the original iso file or do you see regular files and folders?

I only have the ISO file on the CD ... nothing else.
As for the BIN file, I do have a CUE file but when I double click on the CUE or BIN file, the system wants to know what file to open them with. I'm assuming the Daemon file will take care of that for me on both cases. Is that correct? |

For ISO files in Roxio, tyy doing the Make Bootable cd option. You'll then be probpted to point to the ISO file..

Daemon tools will allow you to "mount" the images as if they were cd-rom drives. It is a free download. Just google it. If you want a working cd of the original image you need to start your burning program and tell it to create a disk from an image. Simply burning the iso file to a cd does not create a usable disk of the program or whatever is on the original disk. I dont have EZ-CD installed but it is a menu option under tools I believe.

Do not use the "make bootable" option in roxio; it won't work.
With any iso file you have to burn it as an image, not as a data cd. When done properly, you should see a directory tree on the burned cd, not the single iso file. It's been a while since I've used roxio but IIRC, there is a menu option to burn an image file or burn as an image. Select that and a file selection window will pop up. Navigate to where the iso file is. You won't see the iso because roxio hides all image files by default except it's own proprietary image format. In the filetypes box you have to reset it to show all filetypes. Then the iso file will be visible and you can select it. |

You do the same thing with the bin/cue pair. You open the cue file as an image. The bin and cue must be in the same folder.
