Registry cleanout....

is it a good idea to clean out the registry? I was looking in it today and there are a lot of references to old software etc. Which program would work for that?

Ok I ran easycleaner and it found a loy more entries in the registry to delete than ccleaner found. I wonder why one would find more entries than the other one?

Different registry cleaners work in different ways. It's hard to say whether anything is "better" than anything else. It's like spyware cleaners.
