As I write this, there are 49 processes running. My computer is slow.
Now there are 47, i just ended two from photoshop elements. If you don't feel like lookin at all of them, then after the list, I have the list of my concerns and questions. I'm not capitolizing anything. If its important, I'll write them all again. The "user name" is added paranthetically aim.exe (owner) alg.exe (local service) ccapp.exe (owner) ccevtmgr.exe (system) ccproxy.exe (system) ccsetmgr.exe (system) csrss.exe (system) desktopweather.exe (owner) directcd.exe (owner) em_exec.exe (owner) explorer.exe (owner) gbpoll.exe (system) gbtray.exe (owner) hkcmd.exe (owner) iexplore.exe (owner) ipodservice.exe (system) issvc.exe (system) itouch.exe (owner) ituneshelper.exe (owner) logitechdesktopmessenger.exe (owner) lsass.exe (system) msiexec.exe (system) msmsgs.exe (owner) navapsvc.exe (system) nsmdtr.exe (owner) realsched.exe (owner) rundll32.exe (owner) rundll32.exe (owner) services.exe (system) smss.exe (system) sndsrvc.exe (system) spbbcsvc.exe (system) spoolsv.exe (system) svchost.exe (system) svchost.exe (system) svchost.exe (network service) svchost.exe (system) svchost.exe (network service) svchost.exe (local service) symlcsvc.exe (system) system (system) system idle process (system) taskmgr.exe (owner) viewmgr.exe (owner) wcescomm.exe (owner) wdfmgr.exe (local service) winlogon.exe (system) I have two rundll32.exe 's.. I heard that while that name is important to one thing, another thing uses the same name and is a bad thing. 6 svchost.exe 's? is that normal? (if it is of any importance, i am connected to 4 other computers.) with some processes, such as the itunes and ipod ones, it doesn't seem like they should be on there. I haven't opened Itunes since last start up, and i dont even own an ipod. why do they show up? I had two (the 2 i stopped) that had in the name photoshopelements, which i stopped since i just uninstalled them thru windows (i uninstalled and they were still showing up after they were supposedly all gone.) others up on that list that seem like they are just a random configuration of letters and numbers kinda freak me out too. Lately, I've been getting a few popups on websites that dont have them preset, such as woot.com, pcmech.com ,and google. And my computer has been freezing much more often. whenever the comp slows down, its explorere.exe that seems to take up all the CPU Can you tech geniouses help me out? Easy Stevie, I looked at your answers, and it looks like I'm not in a place to understand the answers! (I went to the mountain top, and got lost in the clouds!)
I can hear somebody saying "You'll understand more when your older" I greatly increased the speed of my PC up by going into MSCONFIG and taking stuff out. Some of it I had to put back, but I took most of it out, a little at a time, and put back what I needed. That's a slow process, but it worked for me. Aside from AOL stuff, my power up process' are only IE, systray, 3Cmlk**(modem program) and it power's up quick since I cleared all that other stuff out. |
