extremely frustrating problem with msn messenger

for some reason when i sign on to msn messenger, the icon on the taskbar will indicate that it is signed on but on the actual messenger list it freezes ther for a long time and then it shows me my buddys and then it acts as they all signed on at the same time becuase on the right side it has everybody's name and says has just signed on. anybody have any ideas, reinstalling windows did not help for some reason

do u have a fast internet? or are u still on dialup?
do u have some firewall or something that may be messing with msn.
wat version of msn do u have?
have u tried signing in with a diff name?

ya thanks for the answer but for some reason it just solved itself, it doesn't happen anymore, but any idea why that is happening. when i try other accounts it will sign on normally, and when i sign on to mine on another computer it will work, so its kind of weird

i hope ya clean uer comp from spyware and everything else bad, i usually get errors from msn, either it wont find my connection or msn loses its connection blah blah, a good restart usually does it lol. Glad uer back and running. If more errors occur u might wanna look at trillian, i got it last night..the GUi is sick, connects to AIM, ICQ, YAHOO, MSN..very cool

nevermind i think it is back. i just got a new install of xp running so there can't be anything bad, i have broadband, any ideas
