postscript: pdf conversion/edit problem

I created an ebook of 47 pages with scanner and the PrimoPDF program and put password security on it ( don't ask me why !) when it converted the scanners .ps files to PDF.
These PDF files opened OK by default in Acrobat Reader but I have discovered that I scanned one page twice. How can I get that duplicate page deleted and the pages renumbered without Distiller? I installed GhostScript and GSView in an attempt to view and edit the raw files and then convert them to pdf but it will not/cannot open the Temp .ps files from the scanner. Yards of error messages about.dll files missing. The PrimoPDF password should not be a problem cause I'm working with the .ps files.

Thanks.
Chris

Problem solved.
I downloaded a trial version of PDFEditor 2.3 . That PrimoPDF program was recommended here on pcmech but is junk.
There are over 100 "pdf editors" on Tucows.
I advise anyone with pdf problems to spend some time selecting a good one.
Cheers,
Chris.
