Nero will allow for the copying of any non-copyrighted video.

The best software I have found for this is "DVDShrink" after it has backed up the DVD to your hard drive it uses Nero to burn the backup to a DVD disk.
I am not sure maybe someone else will know, but unfortunately I believe DVDShrink is now illegal in the USA.

I don't think DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter are illegal in the US. It is in some parts of Europe. .. which is the reason why development ceased (programmer lives in the UK).
But the US. . I don't think so.

For backing up DVDs, the free tool DVD Decrypter is still the best.
And if you have to transcode, pair it with DVD Shrink. It's also free.

So if you wanna backup your movies, don't spend any money on Nero. . . .get these two free tools instead and invest your money in quality blank DVDs.

DVD Shrink is freeware. However, due to U.S. laws, we can't host nor directly link to it.

I have never used DVD decrypter but if RJ says it's good then it must be, because he knows his stuff when it comes to video and DVD.
For a ten thumbed no hoper like me DVDShrink is just so easy to work with.
