Best compression utility

I have been using winrar for years now. But I hate that online register box that comes out everytime I open a file. Before that winzip, but winrar was more powerful when I made the switch. I heard of 7-zip. But I am not sure which is the best. Suggestions. Hopefully free

I use 7-zip at work on Windows XP. Works great and it's free... I especially love the "Compress and Email" option.

It would serve you well to read the forums rules/FAQ before posting statements like this.
