Problem with digital camera
My girlfriend calls me today and says that she can't get the digital camera she got from her friend to work properly (it's a DXG 409). Last night she plugged the camera in without installing any drivers or software and was able to view pictures and copy them to the hard drive just fine.
Well, today she goes to delete pictures off of the camera, and plugs it into a USB port. She gets a "USB device not recognized" message. She installs the driver that came with the camera. That doesn't solve the problem. She then installs the image software that comes with the camera, that doesn't help either. She tries uninstalling both and still no dice. The USB checks out fine in the device manager. She's trying it on her mom's computer now, to see if that will work. Any suggestions? |

Did she unplug the USB cable before "Ejecting" it? Sometimes just unplugging the device before you "Eject" it will cause problems.

Not sure, but I'd bet: No, she didn't.
The problem with this situation is that she's about a 3 hour drive away from me right now, so the only way to try to figure this out is via phone. [EDIT] As happens so often, it just worked out of the blue when she tried it just a few minutes ago. Last edited by bigandy; 12-13-2005 at 11:45 PM. |
