What operating system are you using?
I've never used it before but I've seen this mentioned around the net: Startup Cop. Cricket

This is normal ,dude. not only apps are running, but your systme also. dont worry abou that. everything that says "system" beside it, you cant realy change that, when it saya the computer name(in your case "everyone else) thats what you can change. dont worry about that its normal
i got 49 apps running when i start up |

You can disable unnecessary services as well as controlling what programs start up when XP starts without using any additional software. Go to Start>run>type: msconfig and you'll get the System Configuration Utility. Click on the Startup tab and use this site as a guide to uncheck which programs aren't needed at startup.
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php You can control the Services by Start>run>type: services.msc. Double click each service you want to change and make your changes. Use this guide by Black Viper to determine which services are safe to disable. I recommend using the listings in the Safe column. If you're on a network, don't disable Computer Browser and if you use a wireless connection on your pc, don't disable the Wireless Zero Configuration. http://www.dead-eye.net/WinXP%20Services.htm Last edited by Panama Red; 12-15-2005 at 08:40 PM. |

A question that seems relevant to this thread, where in the registry can I totally delete these items from the startup list? I had a spyware scanner that actually could delete these items from the registry but is there a way to do it without a program?

Like under the startup tab under msconfig. I have a Raid program for my motherboard that's under there. I have it disabled it but I was wondering if I could totally delete it from my list

Someone posted a way to do that once. But I don't remember where in the registry those entries are located.

Found it! And deleted them. I'll post a little something in the Tips and Tricks for everyone.
